Making a Gift
Why is it important to continue Good Shepherd's mission to provide housing and healthcare for older adults? Residents worked hard to earn their livelihoods, raised children, and supported the community in various ways. Some continue to live independently, knowing that other living options will be available if their circumstances change. Others may now be at a point in their lives where anyone can be someday - requiring assistance to function on a daily basis. Good Shepherd's mission is carried out by meeting the needs of all residents - from well older adults to the frail elderly.
Lewis Carroll wrote, “All that matters is what we do for each other." Throughout the years, donors have had a significant impact on the lives of the residents of Good Shepherd Fairview Home. The generosity of past donors has provided a legacy for current residents. As we move into the future, the Foundation will also help to offer support, when needed, to the residents of the new retirement community, Good Shepherd Village at Endwell.
Your gift makes a difference in the lives of the residents, and at the same time, helps to further the mission of the Good Shepherd organizations. There are many choices available when making a gift. Wherever you choose to offer your support, your gift will be greatly appreciated.
Annual Campaign
The Foundation’s annual giving program supports the Living Care Fund. This fund was established for the benefit of residents living in Good Shepherd Fairview Home’s adult care facility. The purpose of the fund is to assist the Home in providing for current residents who no longer have the resources to fully pay for their residency and healthcare. While some facilities may discharge residents when they can no longer pay privately for their care, individuals are never asked to leave Good Shepherd Fairview Home because of their inability to pay the full fees. The Living Care Fund offers peace of mind to adult care facility residents and their families, knowing that residents will be able to remain at their “home,” regardless of their financial circumstances.
Many people choose to remember a loved one through a donation to the Living Care Fund. Memorial contributions to this fund are encouraged and appreciated.
Good Shepherd Communities Foundation also offers the option of contributing to the Living Care Fund Endowment. This endowment fund will help to ensure that the needs of future adult care facility residents are met. You may designate your gift for the Living Care Fund Endowment.
Staff Appreciation
Residents, family members or friends often express that they would like to honor a staff person or a group of staff because of their kindness, caring, and compassion. The Foundation provides a grant on an annual basis for employee recognition and fun events. If you would like to honor staff by making a donation to this fund, your gift will serve to acknowledge your appreciationof the staff’s compassionate care and thoughtful kindness.
Unrestricted Giving
Unrestricted gifts to Good Shepherd Communities Foundation support the work of the Foundation. These gifts help to ensure that the Foundation will continue to grow it assets and investments, and will have the ability to respond to the needs of Good Shepherd Communities, Good Shepherd Fairview Home, and Good Shepherd Village at Endwell.
